The ECU Exchange Out Program will allow you to study overseas for one semester or an entire academic year while gaining credit towards your ECU degree. You will remain enrolled at ECU while studying overseas and will pay your HECS, deferred HECS or ECU fees to ECU as usual. All units/subjects studied will be credited towards your ECU degree.

The applicant is required to write an essay (not exceeding 2,000 words) on the topic “An internship experience in Malaysia would add value to my qualification and professional development”.
The winner will be awarded a complimentary return air ticket from Australia to Malaysia by Malaysia Airlines for a 4-week internship with an assigned member company of MABC during summer break in January 2010. The Faculty Office coordinated successful Student Ambassador Programs to China and India since 2006. ECU Student Ambassador Programs offer a wonderful opportunity for current students to experience various cultures, industry tours and university life in other parts of the world in a guided environment.
The Ambassador Programs may be specific to a particular School and discipline or may be offered over a broader area of study.
Feedback from students who have participated in one of the ambassador programs has been very positive, with students appreciating the informative and exciting program.
The Faculty Office in conjunction with the School of Computer and Security Science coordinated an ECU Student Ambassador Program to India in February 2009. Students from the Faculty of Computing, Health and Science and the Faculty of Business and Law undertook tours of both cultural and industrial sites, met and collaborated with students from local universities.
The Student Ambassador Program to China included students from the Faculty of Computing, Health and Science and the Faculty of Business and Law. Students visited the Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP) as well as other organizations. Students attended classes and networked with potential future employers and students, and experienced the many wonders that China has to offer.
